The design of a flat-bottom tank for the chemical industry demonstrates the expertise of Glatt’s design department in complying with special requirements:
This 13-m-high tank with a diameter of 5.5 m confronted the experts with a tricky problem. The storage medium needs to be heated in order to reach a liquid – and thus pumpable – state. This is achieved by heating the entire tank (shell, roof and bottom ). To prevent heat loss a stress-resistant insulation layer is inserted between tank foundation and tank bottom.
